AC Bulldog Skating Camp

Director of Skating Ashley Carlson

Ashley Carlson will begin her seventh season ('17-'18) at Adrian College as Director of Skating.  She will return as head coach for synchronized skating (Senior, Collegiate, Open Collegiate) and will advise the intercollegiate figure skating team in its sixth season.

In 2016-2017, the Bulldogs competed in the Senior, Collegiate, and Open Collegiate Divisions.  All 3 teams had outstanding seasons, with Open Collegiate earning the bronze medal at the 2017 Midwestern Synchronized Skating Championships, Collegiate placing (personal best) 5th at the US Championships, and Senior representing Team USA for the second consecutive season (finishing 4th at the Leon Lurje Trophy in Sweden) and placing (personal best) 5th at the US Championships. 

Carlson also advised the intercollegiate team to its fifth consecutive Midwestern Conference Championship. The team is now undefeated in its last 14 consecutive Midwestern competitions.  The Bulldogs also crowned 5 national champions en route to its first team bronze medal at the 2017 US Intercollegiate Team Championships.

Carlson holds a Certified Rating in Synchronized Skating with the Professional Skaters Association and is a Level V Ranked Coach.  As a skater, she has earned a USFS Gold medal in Moves in the Field, has completed 2 Gold Dances, and passed Intermediate Freestyle.

Prior to Adrian, Carlson graduated from Miami University -- Ohio (where she competed in synchronized skating and intercollegiate team skating) in August of 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.
